CASA CREU ALTA 

This is an English style row house in the Creu Alta neighborhood of Sabadell. It is located in an area where these types of buildings are predominant.

This project clearly demonstrates that an English style house – which is 4 meters wide – does not have to feel like a narrow, dark and long space. The concept is based on the desire to deliver light and vitality to every corner of the house. We accomplished it by placing the stairway strategically inside the house.

The staircase is not only an element that connects the floors vertically, but it is also used to separate and distinguish parts of the floors as well as helping us to bring light into the house.

It is a double section staircase located between the kitchen and the living room – dining room area, when we get to the first floor, this stairway “moves” to create a double space that lets light in from the second floor to the ground floor and another space in the kitchen area lighting it as well.

The house’s volume is marked by playing with the roof’s slopes, this geometry aims to create another light entrance between roofs and it improves the spatial quality of the second floor.
